The main thing missing for me is the ability to have only certain
categories auto-posted to twitter, rather than every post. This would be useful so I don’t overwhelm the twitter account and only post stuff from the ‘features’ or ‘news’ category for example. Same could be done with tags for more flexibility.

That’s something I’ll definitely look into adding.

Nice plugin, installed it and am testing it.The implementation of using the Twitteruser’s image for the commentimage would be awesome!

I love the idea of your plugin, but I’m afraid it will conflict with one I already have. I currently use the Twitter Publisher plugin so that not only will the post be tweeted on posting, but it allows Google Analytics to track clicks coming from Twitter. It greatly helps me see where my traffic is coming from.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t have your ability to post responses to those tweets as comments that I’m aware of.
Can you look at Twitter Publisher, and see if you’re able to have your plugin complement it or incorporate what it does so that I can have both features enabled?

Thanks for the suggestion and the info about the bad email. I fixed that. I’ll check into what Twitter Publisher does.

Hi. The plugin is not pulling back all twitter mentions as comments – for example there have been comments on Twitter about http://bit.ly/27j7In but these are not showing as comments. I have tried manually importing the comments but this has not worked either

It uses the Twitter API to pull them back, so it requires that the replies to your Blog tweet have used the Reply button. Because it uses the Twitter API, it also means that if you are an extremely high tweeter, they might get lost in the hourly comment pull.
I know this doesn’t solve your problem, and maybe I’ll see if there is something else I can do to improve the accuracy of it, but hope you understand how it works a little better.
Let me know if you have any other comments or suggestions.

This sounds like a great plugin. Unfortunately I don’t see it pulling any of the Twitter comments to my posts. If I understand your comments above, it might be because the original tweet was not sent out through your plugin and replied to? Hmmm – since many retweets seem to be sent out by HootSuite these days (ow.ly), this plugin may not give me the functionality I require. I look forward to your response!
All my best,
Lara

Sounded fantastic. Unfortunately upon trying to activate it in a new WP installation after download, it said:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

I have the Suffusion theme, TwitterBlender & Akismet plugins

Hi,
I just activated the plugin on WP 3.0.1. Having no issues Tweeting a post upon works fine.
Just a question: is it possible to exclude certain categories from being tweeted ?

I’ll look into adding category-based tweeting as others have requested it too.

Great plugin, but the twitter replies I recieved, didn’t became comments. I recently switched of host, could this be the problem? In the past it worked terrific! Hope someone can give me an answer?

only works one way on my website. still can’t make twitter replys in to comments, I’ve read the above explainations carefully, seems still can not function that way. Reply (by the reply button) of the tweet(that generated by this plugin) of the blog post doesn’t become comment. Also tried manually importing the comments but does’t work either.

Yeah, the reply function doesn’t work for me too.
That function was the one thing setting this plugin apart from the rest. Too bad.

A great idea for a plugin and just what I needed! I haven’t tested the posting of tweets to my blog but will do that soon.
In the resulting blog comment, my twitter username is included too:
Eg [my Twittter username] Reply text bla bla bla
Is it possible to remove my Twitter username so the reply text just by itself appears? Sorry, I don’t know PHP so I’m not sure where to edit the plugin.
PS Like a few others, I also had problems generating twitter replies as blog comments. However, initially manually importing/creating them via the plugin settings worked and now they are being automatically generated.

Hey – great blog, just looking around some blogs, seems a really nice platform you are using. Im currently using WordPress for a few of my blogs but looking to change one of them over to a platform similar to yours as a trial run. Anything in particular you would recommend about it?
